Lil Durk was arrested on Thursday (October 24th) in Florida. According to several reports, the rapper, born Durk Banks, was taken in by U.S. Marshals in Florida and is held in the Broward County jail.
Jail records show he is being held with no bond amount and under charges the charge of “Murder for hire.” Details are limited but people are speculating his arrest is in connection to alleged members of Only The Family (OTF) being arrested in Los Angeles.

California Federal prosecutors announced the grand jury indictment Thursday of five men who reportedly connected to Durk: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. The five men were charged with “conspiracy to commit murder for hire” in retaliation for the death of Lil Durk’s cousin King Von. The claim is that rapper Quando Rondo was the target of the murder-for-hire plot in an August 2022 shooting in Los Angeles that killed cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. Quando was the intended target after a November 2020 incident in Atlanta where Quando associate Lul Timm shot and killed King Von after a fight broke out.

Court documents say that the alleged OTF gang members set up a bounty and used a credit card that was associated with the label to book plane tickets to travel from Chicago to California to search for Quando after learning his whereabouts. One of the suspects, Kavon Grant led the search and secured cars, ski masks, and weapons to carry out the murder. On August 19th, 2022 a car was shot up at a gas station in the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles. Quando Rondo wasn’t hurt but Robinson was shot and killed. Quando reportedly did not speak to the authorities about the shooting.
Lil Durk recently celebrated his 32nd Birthday with his inaugural “Birthday Bash” in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. His latest album, “Deep Thoughts,” is scheduled to be released on November 22nd, 2024.
