CHARLOTTE, NC – HBCU Gameday is back for Season 2 of its ‘Hard Knocks’ style docuseries ‘Brick x Brick’ starring the Johnson C Smith (JCSU) football program with a four-minute behind-the-scenes mini-episode from the Golden Bulls final summer workout before fall camp.
What started as a spring football segment for Gameday’s flagship HBCU football program ‘No Huddle’, blossomed into its own five-part series, giving fans an intimate look at a 2023 season that was one of the best in JCSU football history. The Golden Bulls are coming into the 2024 season with more expectations than ever and have given HBCU Gameday unprecedented access for the production of season 2.
“The partnership with JCSU football has been amazing in terms of the access they let me have, not just with the camera but they let us tell the story organically and really showcase the ups and downs of building an HBCU football program in real-time,” says series producer Wali Pitt.
“Every single day. It matters, it counts,” Head Strength & Conditioning Coach/Defensive Line Coach Kevon Fly tells the team before their 16th and final summer workout, hammering home the message throughout the session.
“With this being an in-house production you can expect Season 2 of Brick x Brick to come in a bunch of different forms of content spread throughout the gameday digital space. We’re starting the season with a shorter, hype video-type episode, but fall camp may end up being a 30-minute piece or longer, I’m really trying to let the story dictate what type of episode comes out of it, which as a creative is a dope space to be in,” Pitt says about what to expect from the second season of Brick x Brick.
