Eddie George, who led Tennessee State to a share of the Big South/OVC championship, is expected to interview with the Chicago Bears for its vacant head coach job.
The news was first reported on Saturday night by Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer.
In his fourth season leading TSU, George guided the team to a 9-4 overall record and a share of their first OVC conference championship since 1999. TSU also made the FCS playoffs for the first time since 2013, giving 2023 FCS runner-up Montana a scare before falling 41-27.

George, who played in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys, had a previous relationship with the Bears.
The Tennessee State coach joined the Bears as Bill Walsh Diversity Fellows during the team’s training camp in 2023.
The program’s objective is to use the NFL club’s training camps to give coaches and scouts opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience, and ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.
George was named the Big South/OVC Coach of the Year in 2024.
