Albany State University President Marion Ross Accepts New Position At Georgia State University


Dr. Marion Ross Fedrick, president of historically Black Albany State University in Georgia, announced she is stepping down from her role as president. Effective July 1, Dr. Fedrick is taking on a new role with Georgia State University as executive vice president and chief of staff to the president.

Dr. Fedrick joined Albany State University in 2017 as interim executive vice president and interim president. She was officially appointed president in August 2018.

Before her presidency with Albany State University, Dr. Fedrick served as vice chancellor for human resources for the University System of Georgia.

Her professional background includes leadership roles with Clark Atlanta University, Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, the State of Georgia’s Office of State Personnel Administration, AT&T, and BellSouth Corporation.

Dr. Fedrick holds a bachelor’s degree in adult education, a master’s degree in public administration, and a doctorate in education from the University of Georgia.
