HBCU Legacy Bowl game to feature Celebration Bowl coaches

The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced the coaches for the 2025 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl.

The championship coaching staffs of all four major HBCU conferences—MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, and SIAC—will represent their respective conferences.

Both teams representing Team Gaither and Team Robinson will have two co-head coaches.

Chennis Berry (South Carolina State University) and Alvin Parker (Virginia Union University) will coach team Team Gaither named after HBCU legend Jake Gaither.

Team Robinson (named after Grambling State great Eddie Robinson) will be led by Jackson State coach T.C. Taylor and Alabama A&M coach Sam Shade.

“These coaches earned this honor by winning their respective conferences. Each coach exemplifies the spirit, leadership, and tradition of HBCU Football, and we’re proud to have them,” said NFL QB legend and Black College Football Hall of Fame co-founder James “Shack” Harris in a news release.
