Florida State might lose to FAMU right now, says Chad Johnson

Florida State football dropped its second consecutive game on Monday night, and the loss isn’t sitting well with Chad Johnson, who thinks FAMU might be better right now.

The former NFL star turned podcaster aired his frustrations with FSU on Monday night after it lost 28-13 in primetime on Labor Day.

“As a resident of the state of Florida, I’m embarrassed. I’m embarrassed,” Johnson said with a hint of disgust on Nightcap, which he hosts with Shannon Sharpe. “The best team in Tallahassee is FAMU.”

Of course, both Florida State and FAMU are located in Tallahassee, FL.

“FAMU might beat Florida State, based on what I saw tonight,” Johnson said. “That’s how I’m feeling.”

FAMU, FAMU,

Florida State football opened the season with a last-second loss to ACC foe Georgia Tech in Week Zero, before following it up with the loss at home at BC.

Florida A&M, meanwhile, is 2-0 after having survived scares to Norfolk State and South Carolina State.

Chad Johnson, the former NFL star known for his vibrant personality, has always maintained a close connection with HBCUs, particularly Florida A&M University (FAMU). Johnson, who grew up in Miami, has frequently expressed his admiration for FAMU’s rich cultural legacy. His relationship with FAMU goes beyond fandom; he’s often seen at their events, promoting the university on social media, and showing up in the university’s gear. Johnson’s support for FAMU reflects his broader commitment to uplifting HBCUs, recognizing their vital role in education and cultural preservation. His influence brings attention to these institutions, helping to elevate their profile on a national stage.
