Source:Olamide
Just under a year after the release of his critically acclaimed Unruly album, which has amassed over 300 million global streams, and amidst rumours of his “retirement” swirling the zeitgeist, renowned African music icon and Nigerian rap legend OLAMIDE is back with a surprise new EP titled IKIGAI / 生き甲斐, VOL.1. The EP title, derived from the Japanese concept of ‘ikigai’, which means “a reason for living“, serves as a thematic foundation for the project, where Olamide explores the intersections of passion, profession, and purpose. Throughout the EP, Olamide reaffirms his position as a trailblazer in global music, delivering on innovation and deep resonance yet again.
The Ikigai / 生き甲斐, Vol. 1 EP showcases Olamide’s genre-defying artistic versatility, and puts his legendary status in global music in no doubt. Sonically, the EP is a glorious fusion of hip-hop, afrobeats, dancehall, amapiano, and pop music, which offers a rich tapestry of diverse eclectic sounds, as Olamide continues to push the boundaries of his sound. Diving into themes of life, love, and power, the 7-track project reflects a new chapter in Olamide’s career, marked by a renewed passion for music, and a deeper connection to his artistry, underscoring his continuous evolution on this journey towards his ‘ikigai’ – his true reason for living and fulfilment.

The EP culminates with the nostalgic ‘Synchro System’, which reunites Olamide with YBNL alumni Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh.
2. Elmiene – Light Work
Source:Elmiene
Elmiene returns with his anticipated new single “Light Work”, co-written and produced by OzMoses Arketex (Busta Rhymes, Blxst, Yung Bleu, Skip Marley) via Polydor/Def Jam Recordings.
“Light Work” sees Elmiene celebrating the ease of a relationship when people find themselves on the same page. It’s a dedication to a love that materialized during a moment of hopelessness and redefined happiness – a love worth doing anything to hold onto.
Elmiene continues to establish his position at the forefront of contemporary soul with each new release. Following last year’s breakthrough Marking My Time EP the Oxford artist has remained prolific with a string of singles, covers and live recordings, and has collaborated with some of the most sought-after names in music including Syd, Sampha, Lil Silva, D’Mile and Dahi.
“Light Work” arrives shortly after the captivating ‘Live At 525’ EP, which captured a sun-soaked summer jam session recorded from an L.A. Airbnb – the set saw Elmiene performing stripped back interpretations of songs by Frank Ocean, Cleo Sol, Prince, D’Angelo and Dijon, as well as two of his own stand out singles ‘Sweetness’ and “Crystal Tears”.
Since his emergence, Elmiene has been known for his stunning live performances, and tickets remain in high demand. Having already announced a North American tour, and with European dates to follow – including another London headline show – Elmiene is on an unstoppable run of live dates this year.

Source:Chuckyy
Chuckyy – the buzzing 18-year-old Chicago native and protégé of hometown hero Lil Durk – releases his debut mixtape Tweak Til The End today via OTF/Santa Anna Label Group.
LISTEN TO TWEAK TIL THE END HERE
Chuckyy’s steady stream of singles and freestyles over the past year have garnered increasing buzz from fans and industry alike, as his breakout track “Me Vs Me” has racked nearly 4 million YouTube views in just a matter of weeks. Other standouts include “Turn My Snake Up,” and last week’s “Devil Hours,” which peaked at #27 trending on YouTube upon release.
Known for his over-the-top, boastful, often macabre punchlines over haunting, skeletal production, Chuckyy’s freestyles have been making noise as well. His hysterical, ‘Slow Jamz’-sampling “Veeze Flow” freestyle from On The Radar has amassed over 6 million views on TikTok, while the bizarre “Hear My Chains” freestyle from On The Ringg caught the eye of Pitchfork’s Alphonse Pierre, who noted the tracks “ominous church bells, stuttering Michigan-style drums, and the sound of rattling chains that feel like wind chimes on a stormy night,” and praised “Chuckyy’s congested voice and ahead-of-the-beat flow only make his macabre raps that much more sinister.”
Stay tuned for more on OTF/Santa Anna’s breakout young star, Chuckyy…
4. JEMS! – CREEPIN
Source:whatisjemsVEVO
Today JEMS!, the collaborative project between Oakland born singer, songwriter, and rapper Elujay and Baltimore-bred producer J.Robb, release their new single “CREEPIN” and companion visual from their new album, GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE II, out September 20th via drink sum wtr (Secretly). “CREEPIN” showcases the street-soul shuffle of the record with smooth hooks, trailing harmonies, and a laid-back ‘90s pop bend. The track was recorded with Elujay’s live band in hometown of Oakland and was born from a collaboration with Bay-area producer Hokage Simon. Coupled with the duo’s kick off track, “FLIGHTS”, that’s brimming with an insatiable blend of R&B, dance, and reggae, “CREEPIN” thoroughly captures the sprawling, kaleidoscopic output that lines the multi-faceted new GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE II. The album features collaborations with beloved artists including Amaria, Chase Shakur, Louis Culture, and Rae Khalil, bringing to life the dynamic nature of each artist for a project that feels pleasantly familiar yet completely unique and exhilarating.
The by-product of a profound friendship years in the making, GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE II is an expansive body of work from two world-class artists understanding where their strengths meet and precisely what constitutes a desired vibe. Inspired by their shared immersion in UK nightlife, the album houses a collection of songs that encapsulate the African diaspora which has been beautifully fostered within the walls of the London club scene. Sonically, it pulls from the sounds, artists and eras that have long inspired the duo as well as their shared Caribbean heritage, ranging from old-school R&B and hip-hop to Lovers Rock and dancehall to contemporary indie, ambient, and the many innovative styles they’ve encountered in the UK.
They titled their debut project GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE (released in 2020 on Soulection Records) because the phrase conjured “a kind of urban diamond in the rough,” says Elujay; the feeling of finding something unexpected in the melting pot of a city, an allegory that’s even more apt for its follow-up. This new body of work was recorded largely in person across sessions in Los Angeles, Oakland, London, and New York, infused with a vibrancy for life and a global sensibility. The result is an irresistible “feel-good record,” as J.Robb put it, by a duo whose shared love for music and deep admiration for each other remains at the core of their art. All artwork for this project was created by renowned visual artist Frank Dorrey who has produced striking imagery and artwork for Steve Lacy, Noname, Aminé, and brands like Mowalola to name a few.
FROM ELUJAY ON “CREEPIN”:
“One of my favorite songs I’ve made to date. ‘CREEPIN’ was me trying to write a pop song for a big artist . I realized that I should keep it when I showed J.Robb because he reacted so viscerally. We got together with some of my bandmates and put our spin on it. Later on I realized it was kind of like a sister track to my song ‘Ratrace’ with the UK street soul bounce .”
5. Diplo & Mau P ft. Gunna – Receipts
Source:Diplo
Today, Diplo and international house sensation Mau P unveil a collaborative new single, “Receipts,” featuring acclaimed rapper Gunna—listen HERE. The genre-defying track harnesses the essence of each artist’s individual style, delivering a new sound uniquely in a category of its own.
The result of several sessions preparing for their b2b set at Coachella’s new dance music stage Quasar in April of this year, “Receipts” signaled the onset of an authentic personal and creative partnership for Diplo and Mau P. The pair first unleashed the track during the four-hour performance, marking not only Mau P’s Coachella debut and the duo’s first b2b but also the first time the collaborators met in person. The track has since become a fixture in both artists’ individual sets around the world.
“‘Receipts’ came to life as Wes and I were preparing for our b2b Coachella set which was also my debut performance at the festival,” Mau P says. “We had been talking for hours about music and our various influences, after which Wes asked me the obvious question – ‘Should we try to create a song together that we can play at Coachella?’ He had recently done a session with Gunna and gave me an acapella to mess around with. One night during Miami Music Week, I came home from a show feeling pretty hyped up, opened my laptop and landed on the first version of this track. From there, Wes and I went back and forth to nail it, and eventually premiered ‘Receipts’ at Coachella.”
Over the course of a 20-year career that began with his now-legendary Philly club night Hollertronix, Diplo has collaborated with the world’s biggest stars and toured the world over. Born in Mississippi and raised in Florida, he and his era-defining labels Mad Decent and Higher Ground continue to champion genres and artists from around the world, and further ventures include a publishing company and various book, film and TV projects. The now thirteen-time Grammy nominee is also a member of the iconic Major Lazer, one third of LSD—the psychedelic supergroup with Sia and Labrinth whose debut album has been streamed over 3 billion times—and half of Silk City with Mark Ronson—whose Platinum-certified, Grammy-winning “Electricity” with Dua Lipa topped charts worldwide. His latest releases include a string of well-received Higher Ground singles, last year’s Diplo Present Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2—Swamp Savant, his second album as country persona Thomas
Wesley, and 2022’s Diplo, his first full length album of electronic music in 18 years.
6. Sinego – Alterego (Deluxe)
Source:Sinego music
Colombian producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Sinego has unveiled the deluxe version of his acclaimed debut album, Alterego. Building on the previously-released daytime-ready “El Día” (The Day) installment, Alterego (Deluxe) introduces “La Noche” (The Night) – club-ready versions that explore the nighttime side of tracks from its predecessor, alongside five remixes. Each track delves into regional genres from various Latin countries, expertly blended with house and techno production. The focus track, ‘El Ratón’ (La Noche)’, is a nighttime reimagining of the collaboration with YoSoyMatt & Millo.
Alterego (Deluxe) is an auditory journey immersing listeners in the richly textured cultures of Latin America through Sinego‘s innovative production. By blending regional samples and traditional folk influences, this project takes listeners on a journey through underrepresented countries in dance music, including Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, the artist’s home country of Colombia, and more. Alterego (Deluxe) further explores each nation’s essence, featuring seasoned collaborators from each country, merging regional Latin genres with contemporary dance music.
While creating the album project, Sinego traveled to a different Latin American country for each song, creating a unique experience for all who listen. The deluxe album features nighttime “La Noche” renditions of “El Día” tracks, starting with ‘Benjamín Carrión (La Noche)’ ft. Badwolf, a pulsating indie-dance rendition of the tribute to Ecuador- blending Bolero guitars, house music, and tribal percussion. ‘Boa Noite (La Noche)’ ft. Tonina follows, mixing Samba, a pulsating bassline, and afro-house for a driving atmospheric club rusher. ‘Labios (La Noche)’ takes an atmospheric twist honoring Ecuadorian Boleros and Julio Jaramillo, while ‘Mala (La Noche)’ reinvents Venezuela’s soulful sounds into a pulsing deeper playa-tech track. A new track, ‘El Ritmo (La Noche)’, mixes seductive vocals with hard-hitting dark-disco production for a hypnotic listening experience.
The focus track ‘El Ratón (La Noche)’ ft. YoSoyMatt & Millo revitalizes the iconic song with echoing vocals and organic house elements. The indie-dance-infused ‘Tropicana (La Noche)’ features Cuban vibrancy with PAUZA and Cucu Diamantes. ‘El Malevo (La Noche)’ ft. Kermesse honors Argentina with a deep house flair, flowing into ‘Hueso (La Noche’) ft. Moullinex, an all-new track bridging El Día and La Noche sounds. “La Noche” concludes with ‘Espiral (La Noche)’ ft. Fernando Milagro, transporting listeners to Chile with guitars and profound poetry, creating a hauntingly intoxicating experience.
Additionally, the deluxe version features five new remixes, with Sinego enlisting Portuguese Discotexas co-founder Xinobi, Argentinian duo Kermesse, Toronto-born rising artist French Braids, Latin American folk-blending DJ + producer El Búho, and celebrated Mexican producer YoSoyMatt for the stunning reimaginings.
When speaking about the album, Sinego states, “On “Alterego” I traveled to every country in Latin America, immersing myself in the unique musical cultures of each place to create a mix of traditional genres from each country and fused them with house music. The result is a rich tapestry of sounds that feels both familiar and innovative. Each track transports you to a different part of Latin America, blending local rhythms and instruments with electronic beats. It’s a celebration of diversity and a testament to the power of musical fusion from the Argentinian tango to the Mexican Boleros. In the album’s deluxe version, I had the opportunity to bring artists like Xinobi, Moullinex and YoSoyMatt as collaborators to give a greater perspective of what fusion means in 2024.”
Sinego’s Alterego project goes beyond music, as the LP release is paired with a travel documentary taking viewers behind the scenes of his travels and creative process in the studio with collaborators such as Xinobi, Moullinex, Pauza, Badwolf, Pahua, Angélica Garcia, YoSoyMatt, and more. In addition to spotlighting Latin musical artists, Sinego also supports other Latin creators in other disciplines, collaborating with Dominican Republic designer Miguel Genao for his album merchandise and shooting with brands such as Mexico Is The Shit and Toro (MX). He’s also performed at the Latin Grammys and serves as the Music Director for W Hotels in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Sinego’s hybrid performances are a masterclass in blending electronic production with live instrumentation, including timbales, cymbals, guitars, trumpet, synths, and vocals- this distinctive approach sets him apart in the dynamic world of dance music. As a leading figure in Latin-flavored dance, he has collaborated with prominent artists such as SOFI TUKKER, Nervo, The Knocks, Bomba Estéreo, Yulia Niko, Xinobi, Moullinex, and El Buho. Committed to showcasing talent and culture from Latin America, Sinego has also been chosen by Apple Music as an official mix curator and is one of only three Latin artists selected to curate an official DJ Mix on Spotify. He also curates the popular Spotify Track IDs playlist in Latin America and hosts “Viajero,” an exclusive mix series on Apple Music dedicated to global Latin-Dance Music.
In 2024, Sinego has achieved notable milestones, including being featured in Beatport’s Next Program and performing at major festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, EDC Mexico, Envision in Costa Rica, and Tomorrowland’s Core Medellin Festival. His impressive trajectory was recognized by the Recording Academy as one of their “10 Latin Artists to Watch.” Looking ahead, the trailblazer’s schedule is packed with headlines shows and festivals across Latin America, Europe, North America, and Central America including a performance at The Brooklyn Mirage with Diplo, an Ibiza residency with Cova Santa, and an appearance at Set Underground’s annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival in Oaxaca.
Now, with Alterego (Deluxe), Sinego furthers his mission of spotlighting underrepresented Latin American artists through a fresh offering of sounds, showcasing his collaborative spirit and dynamic approach to electronic music.
7. Jourden – Straight, No Chase
Source:JOURDEN
Today, rising singer, songwriter, and rapper Jourden shares her debut EP, Straight, No Chase out now via RCA Records – click HERE to listen. The 7-track EP includes the previously released and indelible “Flow” along with recent single, “Tryin’ To Play Me.”
Straight No Chase explores Jourden’s growing mastery of her flow and style. The EP acts as an impressive nod to the ’90s, with lyrical flow and production that fuses classic hip-hop, neo-soul, and alt-R&B. Throughout the project listeners audibly witness an artist with reverence for the journeyman that inspired and laid the groundwork for the meld that is her sound, lyricism, and plurality. Said reverence directed her naturally, to collaborate with the architects of such, working with producers: Cardo (Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem) on “Minerals,” Latrell James (Lil Dicky, J.I.D.) on “D-Boy feat. Foggieraw & DaVionne” and even DJ Khalil (Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle) on “Picture Perfect.”
On the release of Straight, No Chase Jourden states, “Straight, No Chase is about jumping right into the thick of things. This EP cuts through the fluff—no chasers, no sweeteners. I wanted to give it to you straight. I created this project during a time of major change in my life, when raw truths hit me hard and challenged the comfortability I used to cling to. ‘Straight, No Chase’ is my way of celebrating honesty while being true to self, unfiltered. I’m thankful for how I’ve turned my struggles into something powerful and proud of how my personal truth comes through in this work.”
Earlier this month, Jourdan released her track, “Tryin’ To Play Me”– click HERE to listen. “Tryin’ To Play Me” is an interpolation of Queen Latifah’s timeless record “Just Another Day…” and finds Jourden offering her signature poetic sonics and thought-provoking lyricism, while continuing to display her melodic range and flow.
With over 2 million streams worldwide, Jourden is a rising powerhouse. Last year, the Grammy U award-winning songwriter dropped her single and video for “Flow,” which showcased Jourden’s authentic poetic roots and deep love for hip-hop. – click HERE to listen / click HERE to watch the music video. The music video was directed by Fonz Bernard.
Jourden’s latest release is only just the beginning of what she’s been working on. Stay tuned for more music coming soon as she continues to share her signature poetic sonics and thought-provoking lyricism and flow.
8. SadBoi & Smiley – fashion week
Source:SadBoi
Today, Toronto rapper/singer SadBoi unveiled her new single “Fashion Week,” featuring fellow Toronto artist Smiley. Produced by Grammy-nominated Tay Keith, this track hits just two weeks before New York Fashion Week, showcasing SadBoi’s expensive fashion taste and sharp lyrical wordplay. The track is now available on all digital platforms via LVRN Records.
The song captures SadBoi’s signature fusion of baile-funk, drill, reggae, dancehall, R&B, and alternative rap with sprinkles of Toronto lingo, staying true to her Canadian roots. The chorus echoes “He want see SadBoi. You’ll see me at fashion week. That’s if you invited. Revenge won’t make sleep. Wipe my tears with racks and Miu Miu on my feet.”
SadBoi expressed her excitement about the collaboration, saying, “Fashion Week was not just a song I wrote to manifest the day I would actually attend Fashion Week, but also a way I expressed what I was going through at the time in a way I felt would uplift me. I guess you can say I manifested working with Smiley too. I said, “I need a man like Smiley. Someone make this intro, please.” We’ve known each other for years and have always said we would work together, but we just never did. So when I posted the snippet with those lyrics, he hit me up, and we finally made something happen!”
Smiley also shared his excitement, saying, “SadBoi and Smiley, the collab you didn’t know you needed!”
“Fashion Week” falls within SadBoi’s catalog of hit records as she continues her ascent to global stardom. Leading up to her recently released EP “Bare Chat,” featuring hit records “Slide” and “Baddies,” SadBoi joined forces with alt-pop artist/producer Lolo Zouaï for a stellar remix of her previously released single “Potential.” In June 2023, the Caribbean-infused track garnered over 1 million streams on Spotify and secured SadBoi a spot on the platform’s highly coveted Best Pop Songs of 2023 year-end playlist. Having recently supported Nia Archives on the “Up Ya Archives” tour and Ayra Starr on the “21: The World Tour” across North America last year, the powerhouse is poised to break out in the second half of this year, joining alternative hip-hop duo Coco & Clair Clair on their Girl Tour ‘24 across North America.
9. Annie J – Makin Bacon
Source:Annie J – Topic
Seattle’s Annie J offers up another taste of her upcoming EP, Been Loving You, with the new single “Makin Bacon,” premiering on KEXP. The record is a profound exploration of a personal journey through life’s stages that unfolds like a memoir, each song capturing moments of introspection and revelation.
The second single from Been Loving You, “Makin Bacon” sizzles, echoing the controlled panic that can be felt when striving for perfection while realizing that it can never be reached.
“The heat, the popping grease, the idea of heightening the stakes with a little one underfoot, all together start to tell what it’s like to be a mother and an artist, or any female professional in the world and society we live in,” Annie says. “I wanted to leave the listener wondering, ‘Is she going to burn the house down?’”
“It all builds to this boiling rage that has nowhere to go, so it kind of seeps into everything; the sarcastic, fibrous smoothie with a side of burnt bacon, served up to ‘the man’ with a smile and a wink… like we do.”
After years of working with esteemed artists such as the Seattle Rock Orchestra, The True Loves, Odesza, The Dip, Allen Stone, the legendary Cedell Davis, and more, Annie J is ready to share her own stories of hard-won realization on her sophomore EP. With a wealth of experience, she has learned to weave authenticity and connection into her work, creating a record that empowers listeners to find strength in vulnerability.
As the second-eldest daughter in a large Mormon family – five siblings in all – Annie J has always relied on music to find a sense of belonging. With a childhood spent shuffling around small towns throughout the US, she discovered that art created a deeper understanding of her purpose than what was on the surface. Annie’s family eventually settled on the east side of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State—through it all, she found a constant companion in what was flowing through the speakers of a “dream machine” radio alarm clock her grandfather gifted her.
The R&B and jazz stylings of Whitney Houston and Nina Simone that Annie gravitated toward swirled with country-soaked powerhouse voices of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, The Chicks and The Judds that her mother had on repeat. The messages these women sent via their music sparked her desire not only for singing but also for crafting stories and emotions into melodies that resonate, as well as modeling the significance of what it means to be uniquely you.
Formally trained in classical music, Annie studied theater in college, which offered a gateway to a wider world—learning to inhabit another viewpoint was a profound experience as an actor and later as a writer. She began to realize her talent for storytelling. In the years since, Annie’s sound has evolved into a singular blend of pop sensibility, soulful expression, and jazz-infused rhythms—she mentions contemporary voices like Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, and Billie Eilish are current influences. She blends her skillful songwriting and brilliant vocals seamlessly for a sound that is truly her own.
Been Loving You is a letter of sorts to earlier versions of herself, an exhumation of her past, and an embrace of gratitude for her experiences.
“Been Loving You calls through time to me as a young girl, a young woman, an adult, and a new mom,” she says. “The words and music are for each, ever-evolving version of me. It’s a reminder: this is just life, mama—you’ll be okay. Keep creating yourself, and keep writing the story. It matters.”

ORION SUN ON “SWEET”:
“I am my own worst enemy and my best friend; life is sweet because I determine where I go next.”
14. Frank Iero – This Song Is A Curse…
Source:B.CALM press
Today, multi-hyphenate musician, songwriter, and record producer Frank Iero has announced he will release a deluxe 10-year anniversary edition of his debut studio album, Stomachaches, titled XNauseousX on Friday, August 30.
To commemorate the announcement, he has released a new single “This Song Is A Curse…” out now via BMG. The new album is available to pre-order on limited vinyl exclusively on his website and to pre-save.
Widely recognized as the lead guitarist in My Chemical Romance and L.S. Dunes, Frank Iero launched his solo career with the debut album Stomachaches in 2014. It received rave reviews from Alternative Press, New Noise Magazine, and NME, with Louder calling it “an emotional listen and more of a window into Iero’s mind than any of the mainstream releases he has been involved in before.”
This record’s deluxe edition will boast 12 tracks, including some brand-new songs, live recordings, and covers for fans to enjoy.
Frank Iero has shared his thoughts on this milestone record below:
“It’s pretty wild having to sit down and think about putting together a 10-year anniversary edition of a record that you originally had zero intentions of releasing. First off, I can’t believe it’s been 10 years, damn time really does fly by. And second, I’m still shocked anyone cares… but I suppose if my original plan was to make a time capsule for my kids to discover, funnily enough, it all kind of worked out. I’ve had a fun time digging through old hard drives, finding recordings, photos, and videos of that time and place. I suppose, in a lot of ways, I’m still that person, but in many cases, I am not. I truly believe that everything we have gone through and experienced gets us to the place where we currently reside, and I honestly wouldn’t change one second of it. ‘XNauseousX’ compiles everything put to tape from the Stomachaches era. From the first song I released as a solo artist, “This Song Is A Curse…,” as well as the first 7 inch release, ‘For Jamia.’ All the way through home-recorded and mixed B-sides and the Cellabration’s entire BBC Maida Vale session. You even get my homemade interpretation of Green Day’s Extraordinary Girl, which was panned by almost all of the internet but remains one of my favorite things I ever made. (Thank you James and Kerrang! for asking me to do this one. I still think the internet was wrong and I was right.) For better or worse this is a time capsule, now fully complete and unearthed. I hope it finds you well, and makes you smile more than it makes you frown.”
Since his debut album was released, Frank Iero has released two additional albums, including Parachutes in 2017 and Barriers in 2019, which Loudwire named one of the 50 Best Rock Albums of that year.

17. Tiwa Savage – One Heart
Source:Tiwa Savage
In conjunction with Leonardo DiCaprio (Appian Way) & Oscar winning-producer Mike Medavoy’s animated feature film “OZi: Voice of the Forest,” Nigerian singer/actress Tiwa Savage (@TiwaSavage) liberates the Diane Warren (@Diane_Warren) written soundtrack single “One Heart (Can Change The World).” Produced and recorded at Realsongs Studios in Los Angeles by multiple Grammy-winner Damon Elliott, the climate change awareness collaboration came into fruition after Diane DM’d Tiwa on social media and personally requested her signature vocals.
“This song touched me with its beautiful words and meaning. What could be simpler than to have kindness, and Diane Warren wrote a song for a beautiful film that reminds us to be compassionate to others and to our earth and toward those who share it. No one can put feelings and meaning to music like Diane Warren and being the voice to ‘One Heart’ means so much,” details the Berklee College of Music alumna when asked about what it was like working with the living legend.
The eco-focused film features the voices of Laura Dern, Amandla Stenberg, Donald Sutherland, Djimon Hounsou, RuPaul Charles, Dean Charles Chapman and Urzila Carlson. “OZi: Voice of The Forest” follows OZi, an orangutan who is separated from her parents. OZi grows up in an animal sanctuary and uses her influencer skills to save her parents and forest home for deforestation. The colorful characters have an action-packed adventure and deliver a timely message. This entertaining family film aims to raise awareness around the issues faced by our planet’s rainforests due to the growing levels of deforestation, and how this affects ecosystems and climate change. The movie carries the Climate Change Stripes created by Professor Ed Hawkins and Reading University, designed to visualize climate change and spark conversation.
While the North American release of “OZi: Voice of The Forest” is slated for Fall, United Kingdom and European residents can watch the movie in theaters now. Stream “One Heart (Can Change The World)” on your DSP of choice via Kind Music Group / Vydia!
18. Godwin Louis – Psalms and Provers
Source:Blue Room Music
Louis draws on religious musical traditions around the world, including his Haitian roots, Haiti being where European, African and Native traditions converged to create the roots of jazz. The disc includes gospel and liturgical music from West African Ewe and Beninois sources as well as 16th-century French composer Claude Goudimel (for a beautiful sax-trumpet duet), the Scottish-Anglican hymn “Abide with Me,” and compositions he wrote in collaboration with several ministers, including his late father, the Rev. Marcel Louis — Psalms 23 Part II (I Shall Fear No Evil)” and “Psalms 23 Part III (Surely Goodness and Mercy)”.
Born into a musical family in Harlem of Haitian heritage, Louis was raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Maturing on the scene in New Orleans, Boston, New York and beyond, Louis is a composer-arranger-virtuoso soloist who got his start on saxophone at age nine. A Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Saxophone competition finalist, a 2024 Grammy nominee (for arrangements on singer Cécile McLorin Salvant’s Mélusine,), and a Berklee College of Music woodwinds professor, he is a man of devoutly lyrical imagination, as richly demonstrated in Psalms and Proverbs.
With a sax sound as robust, focused and fluid as the finest of his reeds (think Cannonball Adderley, Paquito D’Rivera and Donald Harrison), Louis leads an extraordinary ensemble through a program varied by its themes and formats, including spoken word, chants and choral passages; deft instrumental interplay and stirring African American and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. He takes full advantage of post-bop jazz freedoms, also embracing gospel music tropes, son montuno style, bolero and calypso flourishes (for instance on the track “Collective Bovarysm”).
As he proved in 2019 with his audacious two-CD debut album Global, Louis has a humanist and internationalist perspective, informed by the African diaspora and expressed in his embrace of jazz in its totality — broadly defined — and his service to it as an international ambassador. He’s toured Africa (and is the namesake of a rooftop jazz club in Togo), Europe and China, and also returned to nourish his roots in his Caribbean homeland as founder of the Experience Ayiti, a nonprofit multidisciplinary arts organization offering musical education to and developing leadership skills among Haitian youth.
Core members of Louis’s Global band return for Psalms and Proverbs, including brassman Billy Buss, pianist Axel Tosca, organist Johnny Mercier, drummer Obed Calvaire, percussionist Markus Schwartz, bassist Hogyu Hwang and vocalist Melissa Stylianou. Trinidad-born trumpet star Etienne Charles partners with Louis in the frontline on the opening “Showers of Blessings/Kplolanyuiade” and “Pelo Malo.”
Psalms and Proverbs is also a showcase for vocal-focused tracks featuring the talents of acclaimed world stars. Louis has enlisted both Xiomara Laugart, known as the “Voice of Cuba,” and two-time Grammy Award-nominated artist Lea Lórien. Both appear on “Pelo Malo (Bad Hair),” an uncompromising, at first troubled but ultimately affirming resolution of the complex conversation about hair texture that has plagued generations of Afro-Latino and other Black communities. Louis introduces Lècokpon, a bright Benin artist, and on several tracks Stylianou, a singer-songwriter with five albums as a leader and member of the vocal trio Duchess, harmonizes with Haitian American songstress Pauline Jean (who steps out dramatically on “Psalms 6”).
“Whether in Africa or the Americas, the hymn and the playing of music are central to worship and praise in any number of religious traditions,” said Louis. “This album explores that nexus and carries on the tradition of sacred music and its influence on jazz — the music steeped in the sounds of West Africa, the Caribbean, the United States and Europe — in what I hope are new and exciting ways for audiences.”
Psalms and Proverbs is produced by Louis, Calvaire and Chan Jung.

22. Jaylen Brown & FERG – Just Do It
Source:Jaylen Brown
Boston Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown continues to put his talents to use and elevate his game off the court with the release of a collaborative new single, “Just Do It,” featuring Ferg through Create Music Group. The track, which follows the Olympics basketball game, marks a significant moment in Brown’s evolving musical career. Known for his athletic prowess, Brown has expressed that rap music has been a crucial part of his life journey, integrating the genre seamlessly into his daily routine. Influenced by hip-hop icons 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Tupac and Kendrick Lamar, Brown’s musical roots are deeply entwined with his Atlanta upbringing, where he developed a strong artistic reverence for artists like André 3000, Gucci Mane and T.I.
Brown’s appreciation for Shakur’s impactful lyrics has significantly shaped his confident and rhythmic delivery. He cites the revolutionary figure as an artist whose music resonated profoundly with him growing up, reflecting his own values and leadership qualities. Brown believes that Atlanta’s rich cultural landscape has played a pivotal role in his development as a rap artist, positioning the city as a beacon of Black creativity and innovation for multiple decades. This influence is evident in “Just Do It,” a charismatic track that blends personal and collective experiences, highlighting both the highs and lows of relationships while addressing challenges and detractors.
“Just Do It” is a slower tempo track, which allows Brown and Ferg to equally shine, displaying their witty wordplay over an instrumentally sparse, 808-beat that advises listeners to not hate the player, but to hate the game. The cut’s narrative delves into the complexities of relationships alongside the perseverance required to overcome obstacles such as ignoring haters, emphasizing themes of resilience and greatness. Ferg, who initially gained recognition as A$AP Mob’s main clothing designer, has been a recognizable and respected power broker in the music game since his 2007 debut, demonstrating his versatility with impressive storytelling and prolific rhymes. His collaboration with Brown represents a fusion of artistic and athletic excellence, merging two worlds that have influenced both their personal and professional lives.
The release of “Just Do It” promises to be a testament to Brown’s dedication to his craft and his ability to bridge the gap between shooting in the gym and recording in the studio. 27. Jaz Karis & June Freedom – Chill On Me
Source:Jaz Karis
Today, South London R&B artist Jaz Karis announces her brand new single “CHILL ON ME” out now via MNRK Music Group. Listen HERE and watch HERE. This is the fifth single off upcoming debut album SAFE FLIGHT, which will be dropping on Friday, September 20th. Pre-save the album HERE. SAFE FLIGHT vinyl is now available for purchase ahead of release HERE.
Infused with the island flavor of Freedom’s hometown of Cabo Verde in West Africa, “CHILL ON ME” is a stripped down, wistful song that showcases Jaz’s silky vocals as she sings about the frustration of not being ready to settle down while also not wanting her lover to put their relationship aside. The lyrics of “Told you this was a setup / not in a place to settle down / but I still wanna be on your mind / even though I keep wasting your time” illustrate Karis’ conflicting emotions and the ways in which her heart cannot reconcile with logic.
The debut album, SAFE FLIGHT, takes its name from the messages Jaz receives from family when setting off on international work adventures, recording in LA, shooting music videos in Barbados, partying in Ghana, and returning home to her roots in London. SAFE FLIGHT finds an accomplished, assured artist reflecting on where she’s been and ready to step up to the next level. At once soulful, vibey and poignant, this is an album about embracing possibility, admitting mistakes, and trusting the process.
On the album, Jaz notes: “I am so proud and so happy to announce my debut album SAFE FLIGHT. The whole concept of this album came to me whilst I was working in LA. This past year or so I have traveled back and forth between London & Los Angeles so much that I hadn’t realized how much my life was changing before my eyes. The title SAFE FLIGHT felt fitting due to the amount of times I had heard it this past year, it also felt like I was embarking on a new journey which is exactly what this album has been for me. The majority of this album was created in Los Angeles, bar a few songs made in other places such as New York City, Atlanta & Texas. With only one song being created at home in London, it felt like I really had begun a new chapter in life with this body of work. I wanted the features to also reflect my travels & I’m so fortunate to have had so many stellar artists from across the globe collaborate with me on this. The music also goes into different worlds, but I would like to think that soul runs throughout every song, making them all feel like a flowing body of work. From me to anybody listening, I hope you have a safe flight.”
28. Caroline Romano
Source:Caroline Romano
Nashville-based alt-pop singer and songwriter Caroline Romano shares her new single, “Body Bag,” out on all streaming platforms today. Produced by and co-written with Danen Reed Rector (Charlotte Sands, Boys Like Girls, Betty Who), “Body Bag” is a song about growing up and coming to terms with the harsh realities of life.
On “Body Bag,” Caroline’s dreamy indie-pop vocals float over a sea of fuzzy guitars, rousing percussion, and sparkling synths. In a similar vein to recent singles like “Doesn’t Matter” and “Used By You,” “Body Bag” is another stunning showcase of Caroline’s ability to transform her raw emotions into anthemic bliss.
“I always had this picture in my mind of who I would be at this age and what my life would look like, and I always thought it would be shiny, fun, sexy, and exhilarating,” says Caroline. “I’ve spent the last few years chasing those feelings, but ‘Body Bag’ is a peak behind the curtain at the reality of modern romance and feeling young and old at the same time. I think sonically the song has so many ups and downs, and that’s exactly how this stage of my life has felt. It’s running barefoot on the concrete, chasing something you can’t quite put your finger on, but running towards it nonetheless. That’s how I would best describe ‘Body Bag.’”
At just 22-years-old, Nashville-based Caroline Romano has established herself as a versatile artist, effortlessly transitioning between misty-eyed ballads and fiery alt-rock anthems. Since the release of her 2022 debut album, Oddities and Prodigies, and her subsequent 2023 EP, A Brief Epic, Caroline has continued to come into her own as an artist, revealing new layers of her artistry with each release.
Caroline’s music is a masterful study of being a young woman in today’s world. Her songs are raw, untempered, and full of anguish, hedonism, and introspection. Over the past few years, Caroline has also become well-known for her high-energy live performances. Her climb up the live circuit has seen her perform at iconic Nashville venues like The Basement East and The End, and she recently completed her first US tour supporting Grayscale and Smallpools.
29. itsENJ – Añurika
Source:itsENJ
Barely two months on from their buzzworthy Dappa Way EP, Los Angeles-based Nigerian American afropop sibling duo ITSENJ are excited to go again with their second EP of 2024. Titled AÑURIKA, which translates to “joy is greater”, the captivating 5-track opus is a vibrant and heartfelt expression of itsENJ’s African culture, pride, and identity, reflecting their roots in Enugu, and their enduring journey of global exploration. The Añurika EP sees the sibling duo of Chimdi and Otito aiming to unite the African diaspora through the universal language of music in the way that only itsENJ know how.
Recorded in the city of Lagos under the vibrant January sunshine earlier this year, Añurika captures the essence of itsENJ’s Nigerian heritage and the dynamic energy of Lagos, the heart of afrobeats music. Produced by itsENJ themselves, alongside burgeoning Nigerian beatsmiths ElvisBeatz and Mykah, who has also worked with Ozuna, Davido, and Maleek Berry, among others, the music on Añurika blends afrobeats, hip-hop, disco, and dancehall with native Igbo sounds, over which itsENJ’s Chimdi and Otito share raw truths about love, identity, despair, adversity, pain, success, and triumph.
Añurika sets the tone with ‘Enjoy Life’, with its message of living fearlessly and finding joy in our everyday experiences, and then flows into the glorious love song ‘Napukenda’, which means “I love you” in Swahili, and sees itsENJ waxing lyrical about taking that bold step of marriage with their special someone. The more introspective ‘Where You Dey’ delves into feelings of despair and the search for a connection with God, while ‘Ego’ celebrates the sibling duo’s Igbo tradition of working hard and celebrating with the fruits of your labour. The EP closes out in epic fashion, with the powerful life-affirming anthem ‘On God’ about overcoming adversity and having faith in the journey of life.
Speaking about the inspiration behind Añurika, itsENJ share, “Having grown up in the United States, we yearned for a deeper connection to our Nigerian roots. This longing led us to embrace African music – a journey that compelled us to delve into our Igbo heritage and the rich history of Nigeria. Through frequent trips to our home country, we’ve been fuelled by a desire to push boundaries, and embrace our native language and sounds, which has shaped this project. ‘Añurika’ is joy, it is a journey, it is love, it is unity. It is a celebration of our identity and an invitation to all to join us in this musical adventure.”

It’s just the beginning though. 2024 is BlakeIANA’s moment!
31. X-Raided – A Sin In Heaven
Source:X-Raided
Delivering an epic body of work befitting of his unbelievable story, underground rap phenomenon and Sacramento native X-Raided excitedly presents his new full-length LP, A Sin In Heaven, out now via Strange Music.
This 24-track opus finds him grappling with the responsibilities, complexities, and nuances of his newfound freedom after almost 27 years behind bars and just shy of 4 years on parole. He’s experiencing “Heaven,” but it comes at a price—which he elucidates through expert and elite rapping.
Regarding the record, he commented, “Getting off parole tipped a lot of dominos. I could finally live where I wanted to live without setting off any alarms. If you’re a lifer and you’re on parole, you technically still have a life sentence. I could run a red light and get sent back to prison indefinitely if that officer is having a bad day. I had to walk on eggshells even with my music because the same machine I wanted to protest still had control over my future. I didn’t need to give them any additional ammunition—since they used my lyrics to incarcerate me to begin with. I’m off parole now, though. I’ve gotten stronger. I’ve made allies, and I can start talking about my experience within the criminal justice system. This album is a shift from the darkness to the light. It’s similar to going from being a former slave to being a Harriet Tubman.”
Stay tuned for more from X-Raided.
Get ready for X-Raided’s next era!
32. Max McNown – Willfully Blind
Source:Max McNown
Today, Nashville-based rising singer-songwriter Max McNown released a stunning new single, “Willfully Blind” from his forthcoming EP by the same title. After the critically-acclaimed release of his debut album Wandering, which was lauded by Holler, American Songwriter, People Magazine, and more, McNown is keeping the momentum up with his second project of the year, Willfully Blind (out September 20 via Fugitive Recordings x The Orchard)–pre-order the EP here.
Following July’s release of the endearing single “Fishing Line” about summertime love, is the bold ballad “Willfully Blind,” in which McNown questions if love is truly blind or not. “While the familiar sentiment speaks to so many beautiful romantic connections in life and art, it’s not always universal,” expresses McNown. “‘Willfully Blind’ explores the consequences of not acknowledging problems and incompatibility in a relationship. The song is a lyrical cautionary tale of what can transpire when red flags are ignored and “love” veils the truth.”
Slated for an early fall release, the gripping and profound Willfully Blind EP (produced by Paul Mabury) is composed of five original tracks and two additional acoustic versions. “Over the last year I’ve been doing my very best to learn and grow as a songwriter,” says McNown. “I see the Willfully Blind EP as a deeper exploration into storytelling, pulling inspiration from my own life and creating something with a life of its own. The songs are unique and aren’t boxed into one genre, so I’ll leave it to the fans to decide.”
2024 has been and continues to be a breakout year for the Nashville-based, Oregon-raised singer-songwriter. McNown earned ample support for his first full-length record, Wandering, which was recently listed as a top debut album of the year by Whiskey Riff, he went on his first tours supporting folk band Briscoe, Australian artist Blake Rose, and opened for major country stars such as Wynonna Judd, plus recently made his Grand Ole Opry debut.
Later this year, McNown will make his AmericanaFest performance debut in Nashville and will continue to tour as he opens for The 502s in August, Wyatt Flores in September, and Corey Kent throughout October and November. Furthermore, it was recently announced that McNown will also be touring Canada alongside folk-pop singer Michael Marcagi. Visit https://www.maxmcnown.com/ for tickets and more information.
At 23, McNown has already been on a storied musical journey. Taking control of his future, overcoming personal challenges and drawing inspiration from his brother who was bravely fighting cancer, McNown packed his bags and drove from remote Oregon to Southern California. From there, videos of him busking on a pier made an impact online and eventually grew into a legion of supporters on TikTok.
After attracting interest from major TV talent shows, McNown auditioned for one and then decided it wasn’t for him, and gracefully turned them down as he knew he needed to walk his own path. His loyal fanbase then helped Max amass 50M+ streams and a spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart with his breakout single, “A Lot More Free,” which peaked at #1 on the TikTok Breakthrough USA chart. 36. Lei Swan – Sex
Source:Lei Swan – Topic
Lei Swan reveals a fun, energetic bop “Sex” which is a smooth listen and a vibrant take on the concept of sex.
The song is actually the opposite of what people think it is, according to Swan. To her, men have sex in the #1 spot of their brain. Lei wants more vacations and relaxation then you just be focused on sex all of the time.
In her own words, “in this song I share how sex is not a necessity and how much I don’t care for it. I also share how good my sex is and how guys want to experience that side of me but I don’t give them the time of day!”
It’s a preview of much more exciting and eccentric music set to come from Lei Swan.
37. Lil Poppa – Wee Are Who We Are
Source:Lil Poppa
acksonville, FL rapper and CMG signee, Lil Poppa has released a brand new project titled Wee Are Who We Are (CMG/Interscope Records).
With a knack for enthralling, soulful and lucid storytelling, Lil Poppa has earned a reputation as one of rap’s most affecting young voices and on this new project he works through his emotions from a place of acceptance and moving forward. Featuring legendary southern voices like Boosie Badazz, Webbie and Dej Loaf alongside burgeoning acts like YG Teck, Lehla Samia and Blac Youngsta, the album is a lyrical masterpiece exploring struggle and hope. Listen to the new album from the Wildchild himself, via https://LilPoppa.lnk.to/WEEAREWHOWEARE.
The album comes after Poppa’s dealing with depression where rekindling his relationship with God got him through and in the booth. He came to terms with where he is in life and started penning songs across a variety of sounds, to show the industry that he can hold his own with the best. Often an orator for life on the streets, it was important to him to feature fellow Jacksonville artists to the booth for this new project, too. Spinabenz, another immensely popular rapper from the same neighborhood, is someone who Poppa thinks deserves the spotlight as well because of his talent — so he’s on the LP providing that hometown connection.
One of the most emotional songs on the project is “Letter To Jook,” a track to a close friend and mentor who motivated him never to quit. He called Poppa frequently to check on him and inspire him to keep rapping. His presence inspires the whole project, but is specifically called out on the track.
That’s not to say that the entire album is centered around sentimentality. There’s a full spectrum of songs here, with some featuring more of a club bounce, and others that you usually don’t hear Poppa rap in. He’s excited about this new effort and the evolution of his artistry that’ll be on display to his growing fanbase that already consists of millions of fans.
38. PlayThatBoiZay – VIP
Source:PLAYTHATBOIZAY AKA ZAY
Today, rising South Florida rapper PlayThatBoiZay releases his new project VIP via Loma Vista Recordings. The release arrives alongside a music video for “YOO” with JPEGMAFIA. The project started as a collaboration between Zay and UK producer Kwes Darko in 2020 but was put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic and then by Zay’s near-fatal car wreck in May 2021, which left him unable to walk and in a state of amnesia for months. After an extensive healing process, Zay returned to VIP with a fresh perspective, and now he’s back and ready to share the project with the world.
Across VIP, Zay’s powerfully gritty voice and ear for industrial, bass-heavy production create a singular and unpredictable sound, elevated by features from A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, JPEGMafia, Kenny Mason, and Mike Dimes. Zay’s lyrics center around the experience of being dumped by his then-girlfriend and subsequently targeted on social media. “I was frustrated, betrayed, and learned to use the microphone to let out those emotions,” the rapper recalls. With distorted beats and energetic bars, VIP paints a portrait of pain and hedonism, representing Zay’s most polished, introspective music yet.
VIP includes previously released singles “LIL JIT” featuring Kenny Mason, “MOOD SWINGS” with Mike Dimes, “TEMPLE RUN,” and “HOODLUMZ” with Denzel Curry and A$AP Rocky. PlayThatBoiZay originally debuted “MOOD SWINGS” on The Mischievous Cypher with On The Radar alongside frequent collaborator Denzel Curry. “HOODLUMZ” with Denzel Curry and A$AP Rocky appeared on Denzel’s highly praised album Kind of the Mischievous South Vol. 2, released last month, and was recently performed by Denzel and Zay in a special BBC session in London. Buoyed by the success of the track, Zay gained over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
PlayThatBoiZay was first encouraged to rap by his Carol City High School classmate Denzel Curry in 2015. Zay was working at The Cheesecake Factory his senior year when a chance run-in with Curry, who was on a date at the restaurant, marked the start of their lasting creative relationship. Zay was featured on “P.A.T” from Curry’s critically acclaimed 2019 project ZUU and 2021 single “Bad Luck.” In 2022, Zay joined Curry on his fall North American tour, where he performed as an opener alongside AG Club and redveil. The following year Zay reunited with Curry and his longtime collaborator Ronny J to release “WOO,” an homage to the sound that became synonymous with 2010’s South Florida rap. Denzel recently praised Zay in a recent interview on The Ebro Show and shared more about their unexpected encounter back in 2015. Zay has joined Denzel on his current Grey Day Tour which will make stops in Los Angeles at Crypto Arena, Newark at Prudential Center, Boston at TD Garden and more. Following the tour, Zay will be performing at Rolling Loud Miami in December.

41. Benjamin Tod – Satisfied With Your Love
Source:Benjamin Tod
With his upcoming album Shooting Star, Benjamin Tod set out to prove to himself—and to the industry—that he could write an elite Country record with ease. The project spilled out seamlessly in just two weeks from his pen to paper, song, and record. A calculated concoction venturing away from his years of Lost Dog Street Band stylings, Shooting Star is a love letter to musical decades past, touching on sonic textures from the mid-50s to the early 90s. “The original idea for this album was for each song to be placed in a different production period in country music history,” says Tod. “Obviously, there’s no way to cover everything so my preference shines through.”
And naturally, what would a distilled-pure Country album be without a stone-cold swinger of a love song? Today, Tod released his latest single from Shooting Star, “Satisfied With Your Love.” An ode to Ashley Mae, Tod’s wife of 13 years, primary muse for the better part of two decades, and longtime bandmate in Lost Dog Street Band, “Satisfied With Your Love” is a simple romp complete with clean steel guitar, piano, and electric guitar accouterments accenting Tod’s pure vocal delivery. “‘Satisfied With Your Love’ is a tune that doesn’t need a whole lot of explanation,” says Tod. “This tune is just an expression finding simple joy and peace within my marriage.”
“I rode the darker side of life
I used to drink and smoke and fight
I’ve been domesticated
I don’t even hate it
Satisfied with your love”
Fans can stream or purchase “Satisfied With Your Love” today at this link, check out Tod’s previously-released single, “I Ain’t The Man” here, and pre-order or pre-save Shooting Star ahead of its October 18th release via Thirty Tigers right here. “same stories (come and go)” also follows the unrepentant track “hate me” featuring wolfacejoeyy and The Heart Racers EP — a joint project with Riovaz and Nimstarr — that includes throwback anthems such as “tell me” and “lost without you.” Kanii’s discography also includes the infectious pop tracks “nightcrawler,” “it was nice knowing u,” and “pretty photos.” His momentum first began with the RIAA Gold-certified hit “I Know,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100. To date, Kanii has earned over half a billion global streams.
Now, with “same stories (come and go),” Kanii once again delivers the goods: R&B-infused pop that sparkles with fresh ideas and raw energy.

51. Jae Stephens – Body Favors
Source:jae stephens
It’s about time to get fine, flirty, and fun – Jae Stephens just dropped the video for her bouncy new “Body Favors” single! The song is a Y2K pop dream and now it has the perfect video to match. Tapping into the house music sound, the bouncy track is complete with provocative innuendos and a propulsive, rubbery bassline reminiscent of mid-00s Timbaland and Neptunes-produced duets. Cycling through a variety of risqué red, white, and black looks, Jae talks her sh*t, licks lollipops, and moves her body to the percolating beat. Do your body a favor and blast this song on full volume this weekend.
“This was the song that clicked for me sonically and thematically. I was listening to it over and over in my car and was like ‘why don’t I make stuff like this more often?’ I realized that this is my sound, and everything before this was just trying to figure this out.” – Jae Stephens
“Body Favors” will be on Jae’s upcoming SELLOUT EP dropping Friday, September 20th! The new EP is a vibrant collection of pop and R&B heaters, as Jae flexes her versatility with all strains of her favorite genres. Her recent video singles “WET” and the Chxrry22 co-written “Girls Don’t Cheat” (my personal fave on the EP) find her ranging from futuristic, house-inspired bops to 90s/2000s R&B-inspired vibes.
52. Nobu Woods – SAVIOR
Source:Nobu Woods
Today, breakout alt-R&B singer Nobu Woods makes his major-label debut with the audacious new single “SAVIOR.” Listen HERE via Second Estate Records / Warner Records. Combining poignant lyrics with moody, understated production, the track is a powerful calling card from the Queens native, heralding another serious player in the ever-expanding world of alt-R&B.
“Back in the day you prayed I’d be down and now I’m your favorite,” Woods sings over tight percussion and ethereal, fluttering tones. “Baby, you’re losing your mind.” Later, in the chorus, the rising artist emphasizes that he’s no longer interested in pursuing a relationship: “What makes you think imma save you’” he declares. “I’m not your savior.” Anthemic and powerful, the atmospheric kiss-off showcases Woods’ unique perspective and artistry.
That description also applies to the moody visual. Taking inspiration from film noir and classic thrillers, the video begins with Woods enjoying a solitary drink in a bar until a femme fatale enters the room and triggers a series of evocative scenes with grainy filters and seductive lighting. There’s even a cliffhanger of an ending that hints at a larger storyline. Watch it HERE.
“Over time I’ve noticed as more people discover my music, seeing the numbers go up, my exes have been trying to show up in my life again,” Woods says of the song’s inspiration. “It’s been a mix of feelings along the way for me. What’s been happening has inspired me to realize the reasons why I had to leave those girls in my past.”
“SAVIOR” is Woods’ first release since signing with Second Estate Records / Warner Records. Prior to that, he rolled out his EP MIDNIGHT MOTIONS in the winter of 2023, which included tracks like “TWENTY NIGHTS” and “LUCKY ACE.” To date, the EP has amassed over 13 million streams on Spotify alone. It was preceded by his first-ever EP, IRIS, in 2022, which introduced the brooding, magnetic sound he continues to perfect.
Now, with “SAVIOR” and much more to come, Woods is ready to level up and bring his shape-shifting brand of R&B to a whole new audience.

Source:Warren Zeiders
Today, Warren Zeiders shares his new project Relapse via Warner Records. Known for story-driven acoustics and songwriting that “shoots an arrow right through every listener’s heart” (People Magazine), Zeiders’ new 10-track project is an abstract of intoxicating love, betrayal and heartbreak. The project features recent standout singles “Betrayal” and the title track “Relapse,” which has already amassed more than 43.3M US streams since its June release.
Joined by a star-studded line-up of Country’s most in-demand songwriters and producers, including 10-time GRAMMY-Award-winner Chris Stapleton as a writer, producers Mike Elizando (Dr. Dre, Ed Sheeran, Carrie Underwood) and Ross Copperman (Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Darius Rucker), and songwriters Al Anderson (Stapleton, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band), Blake Pendergrass (Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, HARDY), Justin Ebach (Keith Urban, Dan + Shay, Lauren Daigle), Mike Walker (Luke Bryan, Wallen, Ty Dolla $ign), Joe Clemmons (Josh Abbott Band, HARDY) and more, Zeiders chronicles his metaphorical relapse into thematic shades of love, betrayal and heartbreak in his newest project.
Guitar-heavy, emotional lyricism and musicality is imprinted across the 10-track project—from love-struck anthems like “Relapse” and “Fight Like Hell” and moody, contemplative tracks like “Intoxicated” and “Devil I Know” to the melancholy summer tunes in “Addictions” and “High Desert Road.” Tracks like “Death of a Cowboy” merge classic, country themes with tender songwriting, while “Stone’s Throw Away” and “Betrayal” showcase Zeiders’ dark melodies with hard rock, gritty vocals.
