Former Texas Southern All-SWAC forward Joirdon Nicholas has been announced as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers 2024 NBA Summer League team.
Nicholas played three seasons at Texas Southern from 2021 to 2023, helping lead the Tigers to SWAC tournament championships each year.
He averaged 10.1 points and 7.2 rebounds on 54% shooting from the field in 88 games at Texas Southern. He was named to the All-SWAC Second Team in 2023 after putting up 10.7 points and a SWAC-leading 8.9 rebounds.

The former Tiger played a pivotal role in the team’s 2021 SWAC championship run. In the team’s three tournament games, he averaged 18 points on 69% shooting, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks. Nicholas was named to the All-SWAC Tournament team.
This past season, Nicholas played in the NBA G-League as a member of the South Bay Lakers (affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers).
He recorded 7.9 points on 50% shooting and 6.0 rebounds in 26 games (14 starts), playing 19.7 minutes per game.
